I’ve been having the most fun during these past couple of weeks, creating the most indulgent hot chocolate recipes. Home-schooling on the other hand has been absolutely miserable. That paired with random loadshedding and water cuts can literally make one lose their mind.
Today I’m sharing a delicious tiramisu hot chocolate. This has expresso, chocolate, marscapone and lady fingers. If you’re having a bad day/week this will surely help raise your spirits.
It’s like a hug from the inside, pure magic! I’ve added in dark chocolate because I enjoy the bitter taste, you can opt for white chocolate or milk chocolate if that’s what you enjoy. The best part about this recipe is that you can adapt it to what you have in your pantry.
I’ll he sharing more of my go-to quick and simple pantry bakes and meal ideas on my feed. Which I hope you’ll enjoy 😉.

Here’s the recipe for my Tiramisu hot chocolate.
Ingredients
40 g dark chocolate
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon corn flour
15g expresso powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Sugar to taste
Pinch of salt
For the whipped cream topping:
4 tablespoons marscapone, room temperature
1/4 cup whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of icing sugar , adjust according to your preference
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon cocoa powder for dusting
2 boudoir biscuits/lady fingers
Method:
1. Add the chocolate, cocoa powder, corn flour, sugar, and salt together in a saucepan. Heat, and stir until the chocolate is melted and everything is well incorporated.
2. Add in the espresso powder and milk. Stir until it starts to simmer. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
For the topping:
3. Whip the mascarpone and heavy cream together until soft peaks form. Beat in the icing sugar, vanilla, and pinch of salt into the cream and beat until medium peaks form.
4. Fill a piping bag with the whipped cream and pipe onto the hot chocolate. Insert the lady fingers and dust with cocoa powder.
Serve immediately.
