So 2018 is almost over and in a few months my food blog is going to be turning 1. This year has been a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs but mainly ups.
When I started The Tocka Blog I didn’t quite know what it was I actually wanted to blog aboit. Somehow I just took to food, and I loved every minute of the experimenting and styling not to mention the photography. I have no regrets just loads of awesome new ideas that I am bursting to share with you.
I’ve entered foodie competitions and won most of them which is mind blowing, this post is dedicated to these amazing recipes. To the sleepless nights I’ve had coming up with these ideas to being so freakin’ happy when they came together. Hope you enjoy making them.
Peaches & Cream Chiffon Cake
This Peaches & Cream cake won me a cool R5000 and I was runner up to the R100 000 grand prize, as part of the Rhodes #fortheloveofwinter competition.

This gorgeous ranch salad crowned me one of the weekly winners of the Knorr competition in August and the lucky winner of a Nutribullet.
Pizza Grilled Cheese
I made this when I entered the Checkers Cheese world Competition. It reminded me of the time katie from The Kitchen made something similar and to be honest I’ve been craving it ever since the show and entering this comp was the perfect time to put an end to it!
Conclusion? This sandwich was epic the swiss cheese and red onion cheese was packed full of flavour!
My first time making salted caramel and now I can’t stop! I entered this into the #Kerrygoldsummers competition and I won a gorgeous Kitchen Aid mixer. I cried when they announced I was one of the winners, it’s always been a dream of mine to own a beautiful mixer.
Santa’s Swiss Red Velvet Trifle
I made entered this festive trifle in the Stork’s Inspired Christmas competition, I won first place. Would you believe me if I told you I made this at 4am? Told you I’m obsessed.
