Dunked Wings Recipe
Ingredients:
1kg Chicken Wings and Drumettes
10 cloves of Garlic, minced
2 tbsp of Five Spice Powder
8 tbsp of Soy Sauce
1 Egg
3 tbsp of Cornflour
½ cup of Tapioca flour
1 1/2 tbsp of Honey
2 1/2 tbsp of Brown Sugar
1 tbsp of Sesame Seeds
Method:
Marinate the chicken with 5 cloves of garlic (grated), 1 tbsp of five-spice Powder, and 2 tbsp of Soy Sauce. Set it aside for 30 minutes.
Add 1 large egg and 3 tbsp of cornflour to the chicken.
Coat the chicken with tapioca flour and let it rest for 10 minutes.
In a pan, heat oil. Once the oil is hot, add in the chicken and fry for 4-5 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown and crispy. Once it’s crisp, remove and place on paper towels to soak up excess oil.
If you want the chicken to be extra crispy, double fry for 1-2 minutes.
In a separate pan, add in 6 tbsp of soy sauce, 5 cloves of garlic (minced), honey, brown sugar, and 1 tbsp of five-spice powder.
Turn the heat up to high and allow the sauce to simmer gently for 1-2 minutes or until sugar is melted.
Add in the fried chicken and toss until coated in the sauce.
Sprinkle 1 tbsp of sesame seeds and garnish with green onion or coriander.
