Making samoosas reminds me of my Gran – I know I say this a lot but it’s true she is my biggest inspiration.
She used to gather everyone together and she’d give us all a task!, Folding, filling, and sealing samoosa duties – back then I used to complain, however now I quite enjoy it and I’ve dragged my kids and husband along for the “fun” 😂.
Here is a family recipe for chicken samoosa filling. I’ll be sharing my special tamarind samoosa dip recipe soon as well – sign up To my blog to receive a notification everytime I post a new recipe ❤
Chicken mince samoosa filling
1kg chicken mince
2 large onions, finely chopped
2 tablespoons ginger and garlic paste
30g dhania, chopped
Salt
1 cup peas
2 tbsp masala
3 tbsp chilli powder
1/4 cup vegetable pil
Method
Heat your oil in a large frying pan, add the mince with 1/2 tsp salt and fry on medium-low heat.
Add the ginger and garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes.
Mix in spices until the mince is coated, allow to cook for 10 minutes.
Add peas and allow to cook for a further 5 minutes.
Remove mince mixture from the heat and add in onions and dhania, mix till just combined.
Allow to cool fully before filling into your samoosa purr.
