Kofta Style Beef Cheese Burgers

Ingredients
For the patty

500 g beef mince,
1 onion, grated
2 tsp ginger and garlic paste
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup fresh coriander, chopped
2.5 tsp cumin powder
2.5 tsp coriander powder
2.5 tsp smoked paprika
2 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tsp Rajah Mild Masala
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 black pepper
Olive oil, for frying
4 slices of mature cheddar cheese

For the burger
4 burger buns, toasted
BBQ sauce
Lettuce
2 large tomatoes, sliced
200g crispy bacon

Method
Add the mince, grated onion, ginger and garlic paste, bread crumbs, coriander, and spices into a
medium-sized bowl. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.
With damp hands, divide the mince mixture into 4 equal patties. Place on a plate lined with baking
paper and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Add oil to a large skillet or pan on medium-high heat. Cook the patties, and press down lightly
with the back of a spatula. Flip the patties, then immediately top with a slice of cheese. Cook for
another 1 1/2 minutes (cheese will melt by itself!) then transfer burgers to a tray to rest for 5
minutes.

Toast the buns
Preheat a pan on high heat. Place the buns cut face up on the pan and toast for 3 to 5 minutes
until golden brown.
Slather the base of the bun with BBQ sauce. Add the lettuce, tomato, burger patty, and crispy
bacon then press down with the other half of the burger bun and devour!
